Beach + yoga July 16 2013
When life gets hectic - no thanks to traffic, work, thousands of errands and little time - we close our eyes, take deep breaths, and imagine ourselves lounging at a remote beach. The sound of the waves gently crashing onto shore. The soft breeze. Birds chirping nearby. The feel of warm sand under our feet.
This quick meditation actually helps us cope with city life, and is complimenting our growing love for yoga! Aside from giving a quick mental reprieve, the deep breathing involved in both meditation and yoga is doing our body lots of good. Numerous studies have shown the health benefits of meditation, yoga and deep breathing. Little secret: we read a lot about yoga during our spare time. We believe that in order for us to continue showing our love for the beach, and doing our bit in saving the earth, we also need to take good care of our bodies so we can do more. And this is why we've taken on this exciting 30-day yoga challenge! Today is Day 1 and we're stoked to do this. We do yoga every now and then - when there's time. But taking on a 30-day challenge will instil in us the discipline to make this practice a part of our daily lives.
